A football club are looking for a highly motivated and progressive thinking Commercial Sales Executive to join our Commercial team. The Commercial Sales Executive will generate sales to contribute to the commercial growth of the Club, selling hospitality, advertising and sponsorship to new and existing customers.

The successful candidate should have a passion for developing productive business relationships, identifying new markets and business opportunities for the Club whilst forming a great rapport with stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and make a difference to the commercial function through an enthusiastic and customer-focused approach.

Role Responsibilities:

To build local business knowledge and generate a personal network of B2B contacts.

Prospect clients for new and future business leads.

Arranging meetings both on-site and off-site with potential customers to prospect for new business.

To utilise the matchday operation to identify new opportunities and maintain existing business.

Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale.

Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.

Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls, emails and all other forms of communication.

Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed key performance indicators.

To take responsibility for hitting sales targets set by the Head of Commercial.

To undertake daily sales reporting and share with the Head of Commercial.

Working with the Head of Commercial and wider Commercial team to identify business opportunities for commercial growth.

To understand all aspects of the commercial business and become a team player in commercial budget delivery.

Have close working relationships with other departments to contribute to the overall Club strategy.

Essential Criteria for the role:

Previous and proven commercial experience.

Previous sales and marketing experience.

Proven experience of relationship management in previous roles, placing emphasis on a customer-focused approach.

Resilient and tenacious in your approach to sales.

Results driven, with a passion to deliver and exceed targets.

Good understanding of local/regional business to business (B2B) and business to customer (B2C) markets for all aspects of revenue generation from matchday and non-matchday opportunities.

Customer Service Qualification e.g., NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Customer Service.

Desirable Criteria for the role:

A portfolio of continuing professional development, including the attendance of regular sales training courses.

Corporate Sales training on Iris Software plus other Iris Software module applications required e.g. CRM system.
