Our client is the national governing body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of dressage. With around 17,000 members, our client aims to be the most respected and successful organisation for people passionate about dressage. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the head office team as Digital Marketing Officer, based at their offices in the West Midlands.

Working as a key member of the marketing team, this new role is required to help transform the brand, to create engaging and high quality content for digital channels, to reach new target markets and engage with existing members.

The main areas of responsibility for this role are as follows:

  • Develop an online and social media marketing strategy across all available digital channels
  • Create innovative digital marketing campaigns and associated promotional plans to drive membership and attendance at BD events.
  • Devise new, innovative and engaging ways to communicate and interact with BD members online, across all of our digital channels
  • Develop interesting, informative and engaging digital content that will enhance the member experience and attract new participants into the sport.
  • Manage the content on the BD website and social media to ensure that it is up to date, relevant and adds value to members.
  • Support the implementation of a full brand refresh that will appeal to both existing and new members, as well as broaden the reach and appeal of British Dressage.
  • Produce inspiring and innovative digital content to reach and engage with new and existing target markets for British Dressage, including social media channels, digital advertising and email campaigns.
  • Manage and regularly update photographic, video and editorial content on the new BD website and drive traffic through all available channels, including social media.
  • Create new ways of interacting with BD members online, such as ‘Ask the Expert’ and Q&A sessions, to be hosted on the British Dressage website, Facebook Live and Twitter.
  • Ensure that all digital channels are utilised effectively as part of an integrated marketing communications strategy to promote and enhance the BD brand and increase engagement. 
  • Develop and maintain the British Dressage brand standards and guidelines, and support the Marketing Manager in ensuring these are followed across the organisation.
  • Support the Marketing Manager in implementing a strategy to promote the sport of dressage across all of its activities, with specific input into the role that digital content will play.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure that BD sponsor, partner and suppliers are supported and promoted through joint digital marketing activity.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Marketing Manager, Communications Manager, CEO, COO or BD Board Director.

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Ideally at least two to three years’ experience in a similar digital content role
  • Good knowledge and understanding of digital marketing, with a proven track record of producing creative and engaging content for online and social media channels
  • Strong design and presentation skills, with a natural flair for creativity and innovation
  • Good working knowledge of video and photo editing to develop engaging digital content
  • Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills, with strong attention to detail     
  • Experience of using web / graphics programmes, such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects
  • Knowledge and understanding of Content Management Systems, CRM tools and HTMLExperience of using an email marketing platform, such as MailChimp
