Our client, a professional sports stadium based in the midlands, are actively seeking a Finance Manager. Are you a part qualified accountant working towards your CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification? Do you have commercial business partnering experience gained within the hospitality, catering or leisure industry? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a permanent role and during your first 12 months with them, you will be based at the stadium for a minimum of 12 months as a maternity leave cover. After this period, they will review the focus and you will either continue supporting the stadium or you will be assigned to other finance management roles or projects available at that time, which can reasonably delivered from your midlands location.

Main responsibilities

As Finance Manager, you will be acting as a commercial business partner to complete weekly, monthly and annual management & financial reporting to support the venue management team in understanding their financial performance. You will have the following responsibilities:

• Assist in driving performance and monitor and control change initiatives

• Ensuring at all times that the Group financial policies and procedures are rigorously adhered to

• Producing accurate P&Ls pre and post events including profiling, attendance and SPH assumptions

• Accurate & timely Weekly, Monthly and Rolling Forecasts and annual budgeting/forecasting process

• Ensuring appropriate business performance tools are understood and utilised by venue team

• Clear and concise reporting and presentations to client and internal teams at business reviews

• Working closely with GM to ensure full awareness of all financial drivers to enable robust decision-making

• Driving commercial initiatives to maximise Revenue and optimise cost control

Ideal candidate

To be right for our client, you will be a part qualified accountant who is actively working towards a professional qualification in CIMA, ACCA or ACA and you will have previous commercial finance experience of improving business results and adding value. You will have the following skills:

• High level of numeric and analytical skills with a close attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically

• Pro-active approach

• Ability to analyse and evaluate information in a clear and concise way

• Excellent inter personal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties

• Self-motivated with an ability to effectively plan and organise own work

• Ability to take on a broad spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
