Motor Sport is a magazine founded in the United Kingdom in 1924 as the Brooklands Gazette, the first edition appearing in July of that year. The magazine are now looking to recruit a driven Sales Executive to generate, sell, negotiate, close and secure new business opportunities to achieve the monthly revenue targets. The position will also encompass account management, the maintanance and development of existing clients in order to achieve revenue in line with expectations of the business.
Day to day responsibility for maximising profitable business revenues from your client base.
Generate, sell, negotiate, close and secure new business opportunities and achieve the monthly revenue targets set by your line Manager.
Account manage, maintain and develop existing client base in order to achieve revenue in line with expectations set by your line Manager.
Ensure you are responsible for generating maximum revenue from your client base in accordance with targets/leads.
Through understanding of the market, you should, as an ongoing process, identify new revenue opportunities.
Negotiate rates in line with sales objectives
Transform new or existing business into key accounts.
Achieve monthly sales targets and KPl's as set by your line Manager.
Increase new business opportunities and client numbers.
Maintain contact with key decision makers within your client base.
Proactively service customers, developing strong relationships and keeping clients up to date with initiatives.
Understand and detail the structure your clients & agencies.
Ensure that you are servicing clients as per (or over and above) any SLA agreements. Execute plans successfully to deliver additional revenue.
Have a comprehensive understanding of your brands and products, market and competitor products/positioning.
Produce accurate leads as requested by your line Manager against targets.
Monitor sales progress through market share and project sales on a weekly/monthly basis for your assigned client base.
Understand the traffic figures/circulation and content of your competitors.
Ensure effective use of appropriate and most up to date sales/market information including reader/user surveys and reader/user market research studies.
Understand your clients' business, key objectives and business drivers
Provide assistance and support for colleagues.
Keep the team involved and up to date with your activity to maximise sales team revenue.
Contribute in creating a challenging work environment for all fellow team members.
Liaise with your line manager and the production team to ensure you are working to the correct availability.
Liaise with editorial and production to ensure that the magazine is produced efficiently.
Represent your brands both externally and internally as a senior sales member within your team.
All data that is entered onto the system must be accurate and succinct.
Bookings must be entered accurately and in a timely fashion on the system at every level.
All administration set by your Manager must be completed accurately and on time.
Confirmations must be sent out with every booking and filed accordingly.
You may be required to work outside of the set company hours to best represent your product. This may include weekend and evening work e.g. client trips, shows, awards ceremonies etc.
You will be measured in a number of ways including sales results, client feedback, feedback from other Departments and general day to day monitoring.
These key areas of your knowledge, skill and attitude will form the basis of your formal appraisals.
