The NEC Group are looking to strengthen the Commercial Media Sales team by appointing an experienced Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager. The successful candidate will lead the NEC Group’s sponsorship sales and consultancy function for NEC Group venues, venues which the NEC Group operate as well as for external clients in sport, music, events and entertainment.
Commercial properties across the NEC Group include venue sponsorship ranging from venue naming rights to official partners/supplier, experiential and digital media
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the effective delivery of revenue targets through sales strategies as well as manage a team of 3 staff including sponsorship sales executives and relationship managers.
The key responsibilities for the role will be:
Create and deliver a tangible sales strategy for achieving sponsorship revenues.
Lead the sponsorship sales and consultation function for the NEC Group on behalf of external clients
Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs in conjunction with the Head of Commercial Media for NEC Group commercial properties and external clients
Work with the Head of Commercial Media & the sponsorship relationship managers to create and keep up to date/manage a Group-wide inventory of sponsorship assets.
To manage and lead 2 relationship executives and one sponsorship sales executive ensuring their KPI’s are achieved
Secure and host regular face to face meetings with brands, agencies and business partners to achieve new business sales
To develop and deliver the sales strategies for revenue, profit and market penetration of new business across the NEC Group venues, venues which the NEC Group manage and external clients
Create pricing strategies that maximise revenue opportunities across the Group’s sponsorship and media assets as well as external client assets.
Promote an interactive working relationship both throughout the department and with external departments and contacts, to ensure new business is maximised.
Identify potential new revenue streams, producing business plans and proposals for new business opportunities.
Building collaborative business relationships that further our objective of developing new business.

The ideal candidate will possess:
Solid experience in sponsorship sales and consultancy from a media, sports/entertainment or B2B industry background.
Experience of successfully leading teams and projects
Proven track record in successful sales to senior decision makers
Ability to develop and manage budgets and targets effectively
Experience of utilising market research techniques and implementation of market research results within sponsorship and media sales strategies
A track record in understanding the needs and objectives of rights holders and brands when selling and creating successful partnership programmes
The understanding and development of new business development plans
An identifiable knowledge of sports, venue and events sponsorship industries
Experience with producing sales presentations and presenting to senior management and business leaders
Experience in all aspects of customer relationship management maintaining customer confidence and account management.
A track record in developing productive working relationships with colleagues, industry peers and clients
