Coach Education Developer

The Role:

As the Coach Education Developer, you will oversee the daily operations, development, delivery, and assessment of our Level 1-4 coach education programs. Your goal is to enhance the quality of golf coaching across GB&I, ensuring Golf Professionals and volunteer coaches meet the evolving demands of the game and the needs of golfers at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Coaching & Sports Science to recruit, train, support, and retain a skilled Coach Education workforce, including Tutors, Assessors, and Internal Verifiers.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of coach education programs to achieve development and performance goals.
  • Work with Coach Education Administrators to establish annual coach education programs based on identified needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and provide mentoring for a network of tutors and assessors to ensure effective delivery of coach education across GB&I.
  • Support and mentor newly recruited Tutor/Assessors during the onboarding process to build a strong coaching delivery team.
  • Ensure quality assurance by gathering and reviewing delivery, assessment, and verification decisions and candidate evidence.
  • Develop and upload learning materials (PDFs, webinars, online assessments, videos) to the Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance the trainee learning experience.
  • Update and refine all Coaching Course Masters to keep course materials current.
  • Guide and support trainees through their qualification process.
  • Organize the promotion of coach education programs as needed.
  • Work with ASQ and other relevant awarding bodies to maintain quality assurance standards.
  • Monitor and standardize delivery, assessment, and verification practices to meet ASQ standards.
  • Provide quarterly qualification reports to PGA, ASQ, and other bodies.
  • Ensure all PGA and ASQ paperwork is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Handle disputes or appeals following ASQ requirements and PGA procedures.
  • Arrange and chair team meetings, coordinating actions related to the delivery and assessment of coaching qualifications.
  • Provide quarterly performance reports to the Head of Coaching & Sports Science and other stakeholders.

Role Requirements:

  • Background in coach development, coach education, or sports development.
  • Experience supporting organizations such as National Governing Bodies, Sports Partnerships, Local Authorities, or schools.
  • Proficiency in IT and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the golf industry and the sports delivery system in England.
  • Knowledge of organizations like Sports Councils or Government Funded bodies (desirable).
  • Strong business acumen and people skills.
