Recruitment Partner

We are looking to appoint a Recruitment Partner to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of Sporting Jobs. This is a senior appointment with full P&L responsibility, overseeing the continued growth and performance of the business, leading the team and maintaining strong relationships with clients across the sports sector.

The business has an established reputation having served it’s tenth year in 2026, a loyal client base and significant opportunities for further growth, supported by the wider SGI group.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role within a specialist recruitment business. As Recruitment Partner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Sporting Jobs, balancing leadership, operational oversight and your own recruitment activity.

What you will be doing:

  • Running the Sporting Jobs P&L - owning revenue targets, managing costs, and driving profitable growth
  • Personally billing across sport sector clients at all levels in the UK - from exec search to volume mandates
  • Building and managing your own client portfolio: clubs, federations, wider sports businesses and agencies
  • Leading, coaching and developing the recruitment team (2-5 consultants) with regular 1:1s and structured appraisals
  • Driving new client acquisition through outbound BD, LinkedIn, networking, and attending sport industry events
  • Maintaining and growing the CRM - championing data accuracy and pipeline discipline across the team
  • Presenting monthly performance reports to the Board: P&L, KPI dashboards, pipeline, and headcount updates
  • Cross-selling into the wider Sporting Group International group - generating introductions across the group of businesses

What We are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have detailed experience within recruitment, either as a senior consultant or in a leadership role, with a strong track record of developing client relationships, new client acquisition and delivering commercial results.

We also welcome applications from individuals working in Talent Acquisition/People roles within high-profile sports organisations, as well as commercially focused professionals from the sector who have an extensive industry network.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A proven biller with a track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Experienced in managing or mentoring a team in a recruitment or commercial setting
  • Connected in sport - whether through your career, your study, or your network
  • Commercially sharp: you understand margin, pipeline, and how to convert a warm intro into a long-term client
  • Disciplined with data - you log everything in CRM, you know your numbers, and you manage by metrics
  • Genuinely excited about building something - not just maintaining what’s already there

We would also love to talk to candidates from:

  • Sport-sector HR / Talent Acquisition with client-facing or commercial experience
  • Sport sales or commercial roles where you have managed relationships, driven pipeline, and worked to revenue targets
  • Recruitment agencies outside sport who have a strong personal interest in moving into the sector
